Social Distancing Fun at Cavallo Farm & Market

Disclaimer: I was not compensated or asked to write this review. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our visit and Cavallo Farm & Market graciously offered local first responders up to 5 lbs of blueberries from their U-Pick Farm for free as a way to give back during this time. As a thank you, our family wanted to share our experience to help spread the love.

Since early March, I have been really strict about quarantining our family. My husband and I both work in Law Enforcement and are considered essential, so we are going out every day to work. Out of seven in our house, five of us are considered high risk for COVID-19 if we were to contract it, so its super important to me that we limit our additional contacts. For us, that has meant that only my husband or I do the shopping for essentials, we only shop once a week (or less if we can) for groceries and the kids haven’t been out of the house except to go bike riding or play outside our home.

With everything going on companies are graciously giving to healthcare workers and first responders.. and it is very much appreciated! Cavallo Farm & Market offered local first responders up to five lbs. of blueberries from their U-Pick Farm for free. While we haven’t been letting the kids go out with us, I figured this would be a safe way to give them a little social distancing fun!

Cavallo Farm & Market is a beautiful U-Pick Farm with thousands of berries available for picking! They just had their Grand Opening in March… and yes, it is super easy to social distance while enjoying your time on the farm.

My youngest daughter’s favorite snack is blueberries and these were delicious! Our entire family had so much fun picking our own blueberries! I have never picked my own berries before and was amazed at the taste difference and how much bigger they are! Cavallo Farm & Market does not use pesticides and their berries are naturally grown. Seriously, if you’ve never picked your own – there’s a difference! Look at these beauties…

In the market, they offer delicious options like homemade bread, cookies, brownies & macaroons, locally sourced produce, a craft soda bar, flavored oil & vinegar and their special blueberry wine! I wish I would have taken some photos of the inside for you, so you’ll just have to stop in and check it out for yourself. We chose their Caramelized Garlic Infused Olive Oil and paired it with some of their homemade bread.. ah-mazing! We also tried their Dark Balsamic Vinegar with tomatoes as an appetizer.. delish!

It is so important that we support our local farms & businesses during this difficult time. If you are local, stop by Cavallo Farm & Market today.. you won’t be disappointed! Not local? I encourage you to find a U-Pick Farm near you, I’m sure you’ll find the quality is much better when sourced locally.

Later this week I’ll be sharing a delicious blueberry recipe! What is your favorite blueberry recipe?
